I'm a female cockatoo and YES I lay eggs like a chicken!  Look at my x-ray below.

The egg in the picture above, was too big to pass and had to be surgically removed.  Then, on May 23, 2013 I had my first egg, however, I developed a severe infection and had to be hospitalized for nearly a week.  Somehow I made it though and I'm now back to being my happy chatty self again  :)


Did you know that it takes a chicken 24 hours to develop an egg and a cockatoo takes 48 hours?
